UGC NET June 2024 Application Process: A Step-by-Step Guide and Examination

Starting today, April 20, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will kick off the registration process for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024). Prospective candidates aiming to take the UGC NET June Session 2024 can submit their applications through the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in once the NTA opens the registration link.

Who are eligible to participate UGC NET 

Students enrolled in a Four Year/8 Semester Bachelor’s Degree  UGC NET June 2024 Application Process: A Step-by-Step Guide and Examination , who are currently in their final semester or year, are eligible to apply for the UGC-NET. Additionally, individuals who have completed a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree Programme can sit for the exam in a subject of their choice, regardless of the field in which they pursued their bachelor’s degree, if they aspire to pursue a Ph.D.

Mode of examination

For the UGC NET June 2024, the exam will exclusively take place in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple shifts. It will comprise two papers, each comprising objective-type, multiple-choice questions. Candidates will have a total of three hours to complete both papers, which collectively contain 150 questions.

1. Visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in
2. On the homepage, locate and click on the ‘New Registration’ button to initiate the registration process.
3. Complete the registration by providing the necessary details.
4. After successful registration, log in using the credentials generated during registration.
5. Upon logging in, a new window will appear prompting you to fill out the application form with accurate information.
6. Ensure to upload the required documents as per the specified guidelines.
7. Proceed to make the payment of the application fee through the available payment modes.
8. Once all steps are completed, click on the ‘Submit’ button to finalize your application.
9. After submission, it’s advisable to take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

In the previous year, according to NTA data, a total of 9,45,918 candidates registered for the exam, with 6,95,928 candidates appearing for the December 2023 exam. The examination was conducted across 292 centers nationwide, spanning from December 6 to December 14.
