Cycling literacy program for girls wraps up in Srinagar.

In Srinagar, on May 10th, a five-day cycling literacy program geared towards empowering girls and advocating for cycling came to a successful close. This endeavor, orchestrated by BYCSA and She Cycling in conjunction with the Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir, provided 18 girls with the opportunity to master cycling amidst the scenic beauty of the Jhelum River Front.
The culmination of the program was marked by a ceremony where participants were honored with certificates of completion by Narjees Nawab, Additional Secretary Law, and Mantasha Binti Rashid, Deputy Director of Tourism, Kashmir. This recognition symbolized their integration into the national cycling movement.
Acknowledgment was also extended to Prakash Gopinath and Zeenath, the course coordinators from Kerala, who were commended by the Department of Tourism for their dedicated efforts in imparting cycling skills to Kashmiri girls and women.
This five-day initiative was part of a larger campaign aimed at fostering cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and fostering active lifestyles, particularly among women and girls in the region.
