The University Grants Commission has instructed all universities and autonomous colleges to upload Examination Year 2025 academic records on the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) platform by June 30, 2026. Check the official notice and key details.
The University Grants Commission has directed all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including universities and autonomous colleges, to upload students’ academic records for Examination Year 2025 on the National Academic Depository (NAD) and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) platform by June 30, 2026. The commission has clarified that no fresh uploads will be permitted after the deadline.
What the UGC Has Directed
According to the official notice, vice-chancellors, directors, principals, registrars, and examination controllers have been asked to ensure the timely upload of all academic records related to Examination Year 2025. The June 30 deadline has been described as the final opportunity for institutions to complete the process.
Records That Must Be Uploaded
Institutions are required to upload:
- Marksheets
- Grade sheets
- Academic credit data
- Other examination-related records linked to students’ academic performance
The data must be uploaded on the NAD-ABC platform to facilitate seamless academic record management and credit transfers.
No Fresh Uploads After June 30
The UGC has warned that once the upload window closes on June 30, no new academic records for Examination Year 2025 will be accepted on the platform. However, corrections to already uploaded records may be allowed in exceptional cases as per the prescribed procedures.
Why the ABC Platform Matters
The Academic Bank of Credits is a key component of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The platform enables students to:
- Accumulate academic credits digitally
- Transfer credits between institutions
- Redeem credits towards degrees and qualifications
- Benefit from multiple entry and exit options
- Access academic records through a centralized system
The initiative aims to make India’s higher education ecosystem more flexible, transparent, and student-centric.
Link with APAAR ID
The ABC framework is integrated with the APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) system, allowing students’ academic achievements to be securely linked to a unique academic identity. This integration is expected to improve record verification and mobility across institutions.
